More analyst idiots spouting off crap that anyone can guess at. There are probably more competent analysts in these forums then on wallstreet...

Wow, I expected PPC support to drop in a few years, not a few months. Sucks for anyone with the Quad G5s. Sucks for me with my dual G5. :(

I hope this won't be a common trend.

Amen! Why not just release it Universal and check the other box when compiling?

This farce is merely Act I. Act II will be the fight over raising the debt ceiling. Finally, in Act III, we implode over the 2012 budget.

    What time are they opening?
Knox said they would be opening at 8:00 am and Northpark didn't say when.

    Wow.
I wonder if you could hack a 3G microcell to do this entirely in software.

I don't know it could be possible. I know there are a lot more GSM fans on this message board, but that is one advantage of the CDMA network. It is much more secure when it comes to things like hacking. I do believe the newer WCDMA 3G (UMTS) is secure as well, but if you can throw in noise to bump the network back to 2G EDGE then it appears you can hack in without any issues.

See that roughly spherical, green/red piece of fruit in your lunchbox? Better start thinking of another name for it before the cease-and-desist letters start arriving....

    Its quite simple

    -A 15" version
-with larger battery capacity (5 hours heavy usage instead of 3)
    -2 USB 3.0 ports
-and a built in 4G internet connection.

Then the MBA would be unbeatable.

DVD's are obviously pretty profitable or they wouldnt bother selling them, so what they are saying is if the movie companies let Apple sell movies they are gonna cut off their noses to spite their face and pull a really profitable sales line? I dont think so - ********* idiots.
Actually not really. I use to sell them in my store.
I'm sure they get a better deal then us but not that much better.

Normal DVD retail is like this.
    DVD normal sells $24.95
DVD wholesale would be around $19.95
If I bought a case I would get them for $16.95.

This doesn't help when Best Buy and Target and Wal-Mart sell them at 19.95 for the very first week! I'm lucky if I make 5 bucks on DVD sales...then factor in shipping costs of the DVD's.

Selling DVD's is like selling comic books...you have to sell massive amounts of them to make any kind of money.

I figure Target and Wal-Mart make around 3-5 bucks on each DVD they sell.
Some folks ask us to match Wal-Marts and Targets and Best Buy pricing...but we can't normally. We can't even make any money of them now.

I once had a DVD for sale. It was priced at 24.95. I paid 19.95 for it. I marked it down to 20.95..to move it. Guy comes in to tell me Best Buy sells the same DVD for 14.99!

I'm glad there's someone who remembers that. I find it amazing that so many Mac fanatics are so out of tune with the rest of the world that they never even realized that Win98 came out at the same time and is why USB is where it is. You don't see Apple making claims that they were first or created the USB market. People need to get out more so to speak.

Remember folks Intel developed USB. It was on motherboards for previous years. It was destined to happen. They just needed MS to develop a decent OS to handle it(Win95 2.1 only had partial USB support) and products to take advantage of it. Developers came onboard once they saw MS get onboard with Win98. You wouldn't have seen the iMac USB support you saw if it wasn't for Win98.

Sorry to go off on a tangent but I get tired of people making false claims with misinformation. Remember folks being a fanatic is ok but know your enemy. ;)

I personally do a lot of rendering...Vector based specifically, and billing clients is an issue when it comes to architectural work.

A lot of clients view an architect as being overpaid anyways, so when they see a 100 hour bill they can get a little uneasy.

I pride myself on being able to produce the "best" & most completed set of drawings available, at the absolutely quickest time (ie, I draft like a bat out of hell, and do it accurately, though my spelling is atrocious)

often I find I must boot into 9 just to produce...however, for mid level drawing 10 is "ok" on a 450 G4, its all about simulation I'm sure (using classic)

once engsw.com releases Powercadd OSX native, I will be all over that...that should change my booting habits. Though I know a faster machine would make a world of a difference as well.

Anything beats the embarrassment that Apple has in the current iOS.

how do you mean, specifically? neither me, my gf, or my dad have ever had an opportunity to bemoan this functionality. how does it impair our ability or cause us embarrassment?

See the previous posts. A number of Fuji cameras that were not supported now are.

Alright, I didn't read it that way the first time, but went back over them and see how I should have read it that way. :o

Tally me in the 'I care' crowd as well.

If the student price were $99, I could buy it in a heartbeat... but it's so close that I'm trying to find a way to get it.

If you have a student ADC membership, and still have your hardware discount assetyou can purchase it for $99 (EDU) at the ADC Store.

I know that Apple's concern about the white iPhone (according to the rumors) is color matching, which, of course, I can't blame them for wanting it to be perfect. Was just some sarcasm there, guys :D

I would like to hear from those who got this kit though. Do the colors match or not?

What about those of us who use OS X (Mac) and Linux (PC) about 50-50? I mean - in the sense that we can't get the work done without either one.

For certain tasks, Windows is... good enough - but I avoid using it if I can. However, I'm not a vegetarian - and I do prefer Harley over Vespa.

    Fair enough...

So how would me exercising my right to refuse to sell X to Y infringe upon Y's "rights"?

Did I take something from them? Did I commit violence upon them? ....!

Society has decided that racism is something that's not neutral in its effect. It does harm to the individual victims and ultimately all of the community as well. So, society doesn't let you operate a business in a way that's going to damage the community (LOL, in theory anyway)

Are you infringing upon Y's rights? Sure. At the very least you've tried to take away Y's basic rights as a citizen to get on with life.

Did you commit violence? I'm not sure that's exactly the right word but racism is harassment and physical intimidation.

Something made in the US, either a Camaro or a Challenger. I'm waiting to see if there is a glimmer of hope that Dodge makes a convertible Challenger next year.

Have you looked at the Chrysler 200 convertible. It's pretty sharp but not as "macho" as the camaro or challenger. I had a sebring years ago, and loved it even though it was iffy as far as "quality." Still, probably the best convertible I've ever had. I rented a g6 hardtop convertible and it was great other than the tiny trunk.

This lot on these boards are amazing. Incredible what this place has devolved into.

If you people were all here 14 years ago, I guess you would have TORN INTO Apple for hiring Tim Cook from the "beige" PC maker?
