Hi,
Yesterday I had received the CPO and welcome email. Today again I have reveived the CPO email.
Is this NORMAL or should i be worried.
Are they gonna issue me 2 GC, just to compensate the long and painful wait :)

My PD, Sep 2005, is current as well and has been current since since last month but no magic emails yet. By the way, when I called the CIS today, the officer indicated that my finger print is cleared but name check is still pending. I thought they were the same? Does anyone know what the difference is between the two?

good idea to get the DL work done...and make copies of the EAD before starting the process.
btw, which state do you live in? are they giving you 1-year DL's because of the EAD validity?
I did think about the above and my line of thinking was this ..once you have one year EAD ..get the drivers license (make and keep copies) and then start the above process.
what is the worst that can happen ..they will just return the same card ..ofcourse this is something which has not been tried out ..so we may have to call customer service and then see what they say ..any thoughts ??

If you expect IV and it's members to be sympathetic to your cause - start promoting IV. First step is to add a link to IV in your website. Second would be to post about IV action Items there and encouragement to EV members to participate in IV actions. I'm sure IV will reciprocate quid pro quo.
Many of us do sympathize with your cause, but right now we are fighting a lonely battle against injustices against us. Will EV be our (IVs) friend in this struggle?

Great Idea. Since this is Saralayar brain child, let us all nominate him/her to lead this venture , while us IV followers pursue more servile task's like trying to recapture visa numbers, get multi year EAD's and basically save our B*^$'s.
If this venture is a success Saralayar will be a citizen in a year (along with a few side kicks that are backing this new citizenship concept) or so and then he/she can push congress to pass the other minor legislation that will bail the rest of us out.

The packet was just asking me to confirm my address, and my soliciters address and details. They sent a copy to me, my soliciter, and my employer.
was mailed to me on the 18th of april.
on the cover letter, it said i had been sent these because my PD was about to become current, and or a visa number would be available for me within the next 3- 6 months.
My take on the Mumbi consulate, VB, is just wait and see. It says most other countries, not ROW...and to be honest, i am not guna belive anything untill i see it on the state dept web site. in the full VB which should be out next week.

Every one is here is emotional, after seeing the beautiful collective work of USCIS/DOS/DOL/AILA ect.. Now AILA is jumping high between sky and earth and due to the mismanagement of system. Everyone knows both USCIS/DOS is mismanaging the process. However, What AILA was doing when DOS issued the visa bulletin 15 days back? Do you thing, AILA did not know the estimate of number of 485s going to be filed in the month of July? Why did not they call USCIS and DOS about the implication of making all categories current? Why did they not advised their client that there is a mistake in VB, it is not possible it will become current in just one month? All of sudden, why they are jumping and collects all the money from customers to file 485?
Here is my estimate how many 485s is going to be filed in July.
BEC has almost cleared all the backlogs. The rough estimate about 200,000 LC might have been certified by BEC. Let�s assume about 150K out of 200K candidates held back due to retrogression from 2004 to 2007. Let us assume 150 K PERM LC certified between March 2005 and June 2007 affected by retrogression. Therefore about 300K (primary) people will go for 485 in July. If we add dependents it will be another 450K. Therefore about 750K 485s+ 750K AP + 600K EAD applications will be filed in the month of july.
If 750K 485s filled in one month, we need about 5 years sum of EB visa numbers. It needs 5 years to issue the visa. There should be 750,000 EB visas should be immediately available as on July, to make all EB categories current. There are only 40,000 visas available as of June. Does AILA do not aware of this simple estimation?

If you have everything else ready, It takes roughly 2-3 days (atleast 48 hours) from your 1st doctors appointment to when you get the reports. This is the best case scenario considering your results for HIV & TB come out -ve. If you need a chest X-ray, add in another day atleast.
Also, If you filing through a lawyer, there is a significant backlog there, most of the lawyers will not file your papers the day you give it to them, considering you give your lawyer, all completed forms and not a questionairre, it will take a few days for the lawyer at the earliest to go through the papers.

I am a strong supporter of IV , its cause and one of the state chapter leaders . And I also believe that IV's goal should be clear and focussed, but this is an issue that eats my heart.
What kind of justice it is, where people are rewarded for breaking laws and those who followed it are made to suffer.
We are here in the US not only for ourselves but also for the better life to our children. If we can't give them that then our living in this country is worthless.
I also think that this issue should be part of IV top agenda among other things. The folks in question are not illegal but our very own in EB category. They are the greatest victim of the system. When I look at my sufferings , it is less compared to what these people are going through. My green card may be delayed but most likely will not be denied. Whereas, their green card is as good as denied.
While I am writting this and putting myself in your shoes, I feel helpless and hopeless. If IVians won't help here then who would?

Speaking for myself, I'm not seeing the value.
So...when I see them advocating for things that will make a difference, I might consider contributing at that time.

I believe IV should take this very seriously
I do believe all of IV's causes are good
but i rarely see a vote on what IV plans to advocate for
Perhaps having a list of issues displayed somewhere for all to see would be beneficial
Regular polls would also be good
When people see a cause that they truly care about being taken up...the contributions will automatically increase
For a long time i was reluctant to contribute cause i had no idea what issues IV takes up when it plans Advocacy events
