I removed congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard from the list as she is now the co sponsor of all three bills
Hi all of the people who did not call!!! Just look at the response we got we already have 2 of the caucus members as co sponsors of the bill If every member of IV called I have no doubt that most of them will become co sponsors but also that the bill will pass. It is our time. We need this to happen.....
Please call, BTW what do you people think about calling again? I think it will count as more support?? Let me know what you guys think and may be all the people who are active can call again....

Did you notice any LUD? I noticed soft LUD just now, but nothing in case status. Check this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599300-action-item-for-i485-transferred-case-members.html). I had to do submit AR-11 for no reason. Not sure whether LUD is because of that.

My wife and son are going to India on vacation this summer. Their current H4 visa got expired (June 2006) on their passports. They have a valid I-797 notice expiring Oct 2007.
However, I am applying my H1B extension next month and will get 3 years extension sometime in May 2007. I want to get them visa stamp based on my new approval notice.
For dependent H4 visa stamp, do they need their own approval notice 797 or principal's approval notice be sufficient to get the stamping?

H4 approval notice is not valid once she is out of the country. She needs to stamp her H4 visa based on your H1 approval notice.

H4 approval notice is not valid once she is out of the country. She needs to stamp her H4 visa based on your H1 approval notice.

I have submitted all the documents to my laywer on 6/25 itself (including medical) but they are just heavily back logged and won't be filing my case till Jul 10. I am just frustated now. I even offered to pay extra to speed it up but no use. I am only worried if dates retrogress half way through?
To my real question.. Can we just file on our own with out the lawyer? I would hate to loose this window just coz my laywer couldn't do it. Not sure how I would break that kinda news to my wife, "I know the dates were current for 10 days in July but our lawyer didn't have time so now you will have to stay at home for 1 more year".

I am in the same boat. I see 4 or 5 people postings of this messages.
None one else this forum in this situation. Why not we gather how many of us are affected? Then it will be easier for us to plan and request our case to be included on IV agenda.

10,000 was collected and 2500$ advance was sent out to USCIS. Now we wait to hear back from them.
there was a rencent drive undertaken by IV which involved getting a list from USCIS (or some other authority) about where the visa #s are being used, right ?
Perhaps something to do with collecting money from the requstor..
Basically, USCIS sent letters to a few folks asking them to pay 5000$ or so to get the list as it involved some programming ?
Where is that ? does anyone know ?

from what I understand the EB Visas total number has been changed to
290K Plus any unused EB visas during 2006 plus any unused EB visas during the preiod 2001-2005 plus ??

That is exactly my point that Perm Audit is not focused on Nationality, Field or EB category. If most people are from India, China, Philippines then automatically most audit cases are going to be from these countries.

My wife got her H1b petition approved but not the change of status, that is she did not get the I94 along with the approval (she was outside the country at the time of approval). I know that she should be going out of the country and get the visa before she can start working. But After some research I found that there is another option, which is filing "amendment petition".
Has anyone done this before. If anyone has done this please share your experiences.
Does she has any H1 visa stamped in her passport?

Hi All,
I m currently in USA on H4 visa, filed for h1b this year and got approved. My question is do i need to go out of USA and get it stamped first and then work here. Or can i work from October 2007 and then get it stamped whenever i visit India.

Just read in another thread that USCIS started producing EAD cards with a slightly different format from May 11. Could this explain why folks who have received the Card Production Ordered emails in May haven't yet received the card, since the switch over to the new card might've delayed the production and dispatch?

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

I was on H1B (2003 Quota), worked for that company eight months Oct'03 to May'04. Then switched back to h4, still i am on h4, The h1b was expired Sep'06 Now i want to apply for h1, will i come under this current year cap or just transfer.
any advice/idea?
