coopheal ,
I have been contributing. Even for the latest Capitol Hill effort I did call my friends and they did contribute. I have the numbers. I myself contributed 100$. I would have spent at least 8 hours making calls and making my friends contribute $. I never gave up on that. But still I do not get enough motivation to keep this doing. I have collected around 200$ at my work for meeting the lawmakers effort but returned the money to individuals. I am sure it would have ended up helping EB2.
reddymjm,
I participated in IV lobby day. Myself along with other IV members presented the talking points to lawmakers. One thing I can say for sure is those materials didn't have a single line for EB2 alone. IV's strategy is to strive for common solutions which would benefit every one.

If this kind of restriction is not done what will be best way to resolve H1b issue? If H1b increase is done and similar increase is not done on GC then also problem to all IV members(retrogession will continue). If there is cap then certainly it will be reached every year within April.
If they restrict consulting then Most of the H1b persons will get permanent job. Because of less number of H1 most of them will get gc within 2 or 3 years. GC holders and US citizens will do consulting. System will adjust iteself within a few months
What a poor logic. How would all H1s get permanent job if consulting is forbidden. Some probably would , but not all. (Not that it impacts me... just for argument sake).
As some one mentioned what would you call what IBM Global services , Oracle and Deloitte doing ? Consulting !!!!

What's Going On?
Currently Active Users: 243 (84 members and 159 guests)
as you see there are more "guests" than members
c'mon people, register, be members, add to the numbers and to the funds
standing on the sidelines will not help anyone....

Thanks Sandy. Appreciate it.
Does it mean that now if the denial is appealed by my attorney, then my case will go to some Backlog Processing Center, or it'll still stay with Atlanta National Processing Center?

I think my efforts last week resulted in adding 4 new members. I will be contacting 10 others and actually sitting down with them to help them become a IV member. I will post as soon as I register one more member.

I will add my $100 & send the checks. One more co-worker will put in $50 through the credit card.
Let us all try like this from our co workers. I think guys do not mind paying but are too lazy to write the check. So we need to chase them...
One more technique, I have used.... give your friend $10 or $20 in cash & ask him to go online and contribute an amount by adding some money to your cash contribution...

I've heard one successful case who's CSPA age was 3 days over, but eventually his lawyer helped him got the visa. I'm hoping I can get some feedback or information on more similar cases. If anyone has ever heard about a similar situation (petition filed before Sep. 11, 2001, aged-out by CSPA, but benefited from Patriot Act 45-days extension), please let me know. Thanks!

Where is this guy VDLRAO who predicted "EB2 India will be current within a Year"? Did he mean year 2067?:D:D
VDLRAO and me and other members did prediction based on USCIS efficiancy and based on how it worked for last 2 years. Since Jan 2009 after new secretary came in we see lots of news about improve in process. If they improve more and more then we will clear of old PD application but VB dates move slowly . but no back and forth jump like previous year. So lets say if VB touches 2005 this summer then it will be same for next fiscal year first quater. Then it may move from there.....

04/08/2009: USCIS Projected I-140 and EB-485 Processing Times and Ongoing Massive Adjudication of Pending Visa Number Available I-140 and EB-485 Cases
* The I-140 and EB-485 waiters, particularly those who filed the cases during the period of FY 2007 July Visa Bulletin fiasco period, are currently receiving either the RFEs and approvals or denials en masse from the Service Centers, turning a lot of waiters into smiley faces. On behalf of all of these smiley faces, we want to send our message of "THANK YOU" to the leaders of the USCIS and the Honorable Napolitano of DHS for the action in place to remove the backlogs. Thank you, Thank you, and THANK YOU!!

Hey Vijjus, what did they do wrong? I thought they were pretty good. Could you please share a little bit more.
Thanks
Never trust the FDBL assholes. They've screwed me multiple times in the past and the irony is that I've paid them for that.

She's our strongest hope, according to well-placed sources.
Zoe Lofgren, Congresswoman,
- Chair - Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law (http://lofgren.house.gov/committees.shtml )
- ex-member of AILA.
This is great..I wonder how powerful she is? They never cared to reply to her July 2nd letter.

I haven't open any SR with USCIS , but some folks mention that when they open SR they get standard reply to wait for 30 days. With visa dates going back and forth, customer should open SR as early as month start so if dates remain current for atleast two month they can get some reply. If you wait till end of month and then open SR and if USCIS ask for 30 days and date retrogress , I bet you next reply will be No visa available.
Service requests should have a wait time of 3 months or 6 months.
If you make it 5 days, people will open one every 5 days and jam the system. The speed of approvals is slow because everyone is calling, opening service requests, lawyer request, Senator request etc etc every day. Visa officer may be responding to service requests everyday coming from customer service than actually opening a file and making it ready for approval.
Common sense is missing in people.

Hi
Is there any one who has got EAD renewed in the last 2 months ie in Feb, March 2010?
As some one mentioned the lockbox creating delays , Im frm SFO , CA so according to the new I-765 instructions so I need to mail it to the Phoenix , AZ lockbox, am I correct?
Has any one been successful in getting an interim EAD ,in the recent past (6 months ) by going to their local USCIS office in case they didnt get their EAD's in time ie before the current EAD expires?
Thnks

H4-B renewal end of April 2007, H1-B applied in April 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will this be a problem?
I need answers to following questions.
1) Can i apply for mY wife's H4-B renewal while her H1-B application is pending?
2) What will happen, if here H1-B is approved after H4-B renewal is applied and before her Renewal of H4-B is approved?
3) What will happen, if my wife's H1-B is approved before H4-B renewal is applied. On what status will she stay untill Oct 2007. Does she have to go back to India and come back with a visa stamp?
Appreciate a response.
Thanks.

The Murray Amendment failed to make it through in the Senate Appropriations bill due to strong opposition from some senators for adding domestic issues with a war funding bill. The amendment wasn't defeated by vote, it was just that it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The house bills HR 5882, 5921 and 6039 is gathering good momentum. Please call your own lawmakers, CHC members and the list of lawmakers which IV wants to call. Please call and ask them to co-sponsor these bipartisan bills
We can make it happen.
What amendments got defeated ?? I lost touch of this thread last week.
Do we have any updates on the bills?

I had a friend who tried to register but the website wouldn't because he has yet to file his LC, can someone confirm this? otherwise I will personally help my friend if he is making any mistake.
He is forwarding to his Chinese friends to spread the word..
thanks,
What your friend can do is enter the tentative month he thinks his LC is going to be filed. He can always update his user profile once the LC is actually filed. I would however request all members who are introducing others to request them to enter a valid email that they access frequently. IV is not in the business of selling emails or sending junk mail. But valid and regularly accessed emails are a vital tool in getting members involved when a significant push is needed.

GCPerm, Good answers. I commend you for that.
Otherwise, I sincerely believe even after I get my green card, we should focus on resolving this green card backlog mess and if we can get green card holders and US Citizens to support this cause it woule be better.
Maybe you are not able to relate to what EB3 candidates go through. Yes it is a choice we made to wait in this country. A lot of EB3 people qualify for EB2 based on their qualifications and experience but were put into EB3 due to company's choice or attorney's mistake.
But no person should be made to wait for an answer of whether their application is going to be approved for 8-10 years.
The pre-adjudication in my opinion is a farce as it was more done to get their(USCIS) inventory calculated properly than ensuring the person is clear from all angles. Because, I know of about 5 people who are in EB2 who are sent RFE's now, after their dates have become current. They were supposedly pre-adjudicated as per the IO during the interview at the local office. some of them were fingerprints, some of them just to verify whether the husband and wife are still married etc.
Coming back to my point, there are EB3 applicants now who have a priority date of 2006, 2008 2009 etc. Can we accept a process which asks people to wait for 20 years to get a Yay or Nay for their application is the question. I think it is unacceptable. I believe more green card holders and US Citizens who are deciding to put their roots in USA should help the country to better the legal immigration system first before anything else.
Regarding citizenship as I mentioned before if you think you will not bail out after starting a campaign, then go ahead and lead it.
Let us not criticise any one further and look for very efficient way of presenting this to the right people. We welcome more ideas from other members then we will consilidate them and decide how we go with this.
