I'm fairly certain AirPlay is actually a standard that Apple has licensed from another company which is why there were already a few receivers on the market that supported or could be updated to support AirPlay.
You must confusing it with something else. AirPlay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirPlay) is Apple's updated version of AirTunes which has been around for years.

Apple, mainly. They are extremely stubborn about what hardware their software runs on.
Or letting them have custom systems or having the use dells / hp / who ever with mac os x?
OS X officially does not run on non-Apple hardware.
The Government, I mean serious government, with big purchasing power gets great deals on Mac's better than you think and competitive to the high end systems you might get from Dell etc

Not to mention by buying a Windows machine they don't have to provide additional tech support, buy any new software, or integrate it into existing networks. Plus Dell/Windows machine makers already have a well-established relationship with the military that goes back decades.

Push Notifications are when your phone automatically checks for updates, alerts etc. without you having to open the app right? I guess it's just misleading to me because when I hear "push" notifications, I think of something that happens when I push the app or open it up.

No, PN is when the Apple Push Notification server tells your phone you have a notification. The apps do not need to be running. Its suppose to save you battery life by not having multiple apps open all the time.

The high vantage point and the stuffed animals on the table really make this shot. It's a picture with contrasts on many levels: white/black, obese/gaunt, tough/cuddly, nonconformist/mainstream, just to name a few. Very nice address to the theme, Keleko.
I would probably crop in tighter, since the empty chair and so much railing is not adding anything to the image. You could come in at the top, left, and right, and get us that much closer to this eccentric couple.

I completely agree about the similarities making a nice counterpoint to the differences. I probably wouldn't call this one a "literal interpretation" of contrast, though, since it goes so far beyond just being dark versus light. (I guess I think of contrast at its most basic as involving tonality.)

Classic B&W mountain photography is probably my favorite of all time. I can just stare at Bradford Washburn's photos for days. I think you did really well here and I enjoyed this one for sure. Unless I misread the report, basically all Target did was remind the studios that the DVD format is in jeopardy and they better get with the times or Target will. And if studios need Target and Wal-Mart to tell them that, they're in more trouble than I ever thought.
My understanding was different. I take it that they are taking the same stance that Wal-Mart is, and that is that if the movie industry allows iTunes to sell movies, they will make the record companies pay for it (in a negative way). The retailers aren't ready to take on iTunes and the online market, so they are going to use their power to stall the transition to digital downloads as long as they possibly can.
What Target is doing is anti Apple, and more importantly, anti the progression of technology and lifestyle.

wonder if this is why direcTV never came out with this functionality. Generally they are ahead of the curve (TWC) with comes to actually providing value for the customers, to some degree.
Until not that long ago Fox controlled DirecTV, so that is likely why.
They have a program you can use on your computer to watch your dvr from your computer, but it has issues.. One is it does not work on a computer with dual monitors, which is just dumb.

If they were in serious discussions, there would be non-disclosures.
I could be in discussion with Universal about starring in their latest blockbuster movie. I sent them a letter, they sent a rejection form letter. Voila, discussion.
The issue with using such a device in a laptop or whatever, is that there must be a temperature gradient -- that is, there has to be a hot end and a cold end. The hot end is a given, a processor. But you still have to cool the other end of the device, so you still have to have fans/radiators/or whatever to draw heat away from the cold end for the effect to work. Doesn't change the fundamental problem of cooling a machine with limited space and power.
As mentioned earlier, if you want to ACTIVELY cool a CPU with these, it takes the application of a boatload of electricity to do it.

If people are less likely to use a cashier who is an ethnic minority (which I dispute, but anyway), would that make them less productive and less valuable for their employer?
So, if it is thought that an ethnic minority would actually do a job worse, because of other people's discrimination, then ethnicity technically would make a difference to their ability to do a job.
Would this be grounds for not employing them?
I just don't see that in real life and I think it would be almost impossible to prove in a court of law.
My belief is that we need to move beyond skin color and towards a system where the economically repressed are given a better chance to move up the ladder of success.

That's really interesting! You just held "c" at boot to load up the XP CD?
I'm guessing you still needed to use a "slipstreamed" XP SP2 CD with the SATA drivers installed so it doesn't run in dog slow PIO mode

I made a MacPro driver CD from Bootcamp, and a slipstreamed XP SP2 CD. The slipstreamed XP SP2 CD boots up just fine holding "c" at boot.

What's wrong with a keyboard or touch typing? I guess I don't see where you're going with this, as typing on a touch screen for long pieces of work or long periods of time is far less efficient. I see where the touch interface has its uses, but in some places it's just far less practical.
You *can* touch type on an iPad, though. I type long emails on it without looking at the screen. I wonder if people just assume you can't, so they don't try.

see this youtube video and you will be able to determine whether CPU affects the overall speed more than GPU. This guy compared 11" MBA(with 320M graphics) and 13" sandy bridge MBP with SSD(with Intel 3000HD graphics )

Of course sandy bridge MBA won't use full power sandy bridge. But you will know that MBA's performance is just overpraised by SSD, not by GPU. Once other notebooks get SSD, MBA's benefit is only limited to small form factor and weight.(maybe + high resolution)

Used to hate the 30pin dock connector till I realized how much it combines.
I love the inclusion of USB3.0.
I just hope the old dock ports/cables will be backwards compatible, I've got so many dock cables.
Also hope Apple will also release something like this to comply with the EU standards...
