We had our first FP's in Oct '07. No FP's after that. So It's been 18 months since we had our first FP's! What does this mean? My application at NSC.

This fellow who wrote this might be one of those arm chair critics who just criticizes everything if it doesn't favor that individual. What a moron. I am sure this fellow is clueless about how much effort is put into to make a legislation.
There has been lot of work done by many IV volunteers just to get a bill introduced. It is so stupid just to trash talk the efforts put in by the selfless IV volunteers.
All IV members has to be proud that we have been able to get a bill that addresses the GC backlogs. Hey one year back lawmakers were clueless about EB GC issues. Now majority of the lawmakers atleast have an understanding about EB GC issues. It is a matter of time before we succeed.
The easiest guage for the success of the IV efforts is to see the response U get from the lawmakers when U write to them about GC issues. Earlier U used to get a generic reply about undocumented workers and broken borders, nowadays U would be getting replies that talk about EB immigration. Isn't that an achievement. As a professional aren't U proud that U are give the respect U deserve rather than getting clubbed with undocumented workers. Ask for U'r self?

Take my example (and there are thousands like myself)....came to the US 8 years ago, spent 5 years working day and night to earn a PhD on a low (barely sustainable) stipend, got FIRST job saw decent money for the first time 6 years after I came.
Not sure about you, but a lot of the people enrolled into the doctorate program in the 2001-2004 time-frame out of necessity. They could not find a job after their masters and decided to go for the quals as a fallback. If you did actual research, you should have enough publications and acclaimed research to get you into EB1. If not, well then there's no need to cry in self pity here because you are getting exactly what you deserve.

Yes. It was pending LC and they approved my I-140 last week. The status update happened immediately after my I-140 approval.Does your current transfer require documents from the previous employer ? [LC/Approved I-140] ? Yes. It was LC that was pending with my previous employer. Were you paid the prevailing wages mentioned in the LCA of previous H1B ?
Yes. I was getting paid little more.
Can this be supported by the W2 of last financial year [Not the paycheck].
Yes.
Did you have I-94 attached in the previously approved H1B ?
Yes.
Please answer these questions it might be helpful in finding what might have raised the red flag.

mrajatish, Thanks for taking the initiative, we have thought about such a drive in the past but later on gave up because the transaction fees on 25 dollars comes to about $4-$5, which is almost same for $50. But yes if people can just spare $25 than even $20 which comes to IV is good enough to reach the target.
How about this - let us have a couple of volunteers call/email people asking for $25 contribution. If we can get 1/2 of 3000 people contributing $25 each, we will get to about 120K. I am ready to take initiative in this - core group, can I get this initiative going?

Are you guys getting any kind of numbers back from paypal, on what is the kind of spike that you are seeing in terms of # of people contributing in the last few weeks?
Has it gone up from say, 100 to 1000? or has the new IV crowd been apathetic so far? A feedback from the core will indicate on what kind of response we have been getting.

Thank you for the reply. When you say that if I go with Company A that there will be more scrutiny, do you mean they will check the vailidity of the offer and their ability to pay? I work for a Govt. Agency(Company C), they will give me an EVL but I am not sure if they will specify "in accordance with I140". I am actually doing the same job, same place, before as a contractor(Company A) and now as an Employee(Company C).
This is what you could do. Take the updated EVL letter from your HR/ Supervisor. Attach latest paystubs as additional proof. Now for duties if the EVL does not contain this info then attach a copy of job posting advertisement that was issued when you were hired. Every govt job needs to be advertised. It can be in papers or their own website. Then get the lawyer to draft the AC21 letter and to point out the similarities between this job and your labor.

Driving License should not be a problem as these days the rules have been relaxed dramatically. In NY they give license for 5 yrs irrespective of ur I-94 date. Also it depends on how many yrs you have left with H1B.
In some states they are even planning to give for illegal immigrants. As legal immigrants we can renew Driving license. But it is a valid point for unmarried, as they have to keep it active until they bring their spouse to USA.

That was a pleasant surprise for him.
